About Us

Gary, Paula and Mary Halstead all bring to this leadership team a unified focus to senior care.  Mary says, "Having my older sister experience a debilitating illness over the past two decades has given me an understanding and passion for in-home care services."  Mary continued, "Being able to stay in your own familiar surroundings is as important a medicine to many of our clients."  Gary and Paula experienced the ministry of comfort care as they worked in full time ministry for churches in Ohio and Indiana but faced a personal experience of this work as Gary's father experienced a heart attack at the same time his mother rapidly declined from a pulmonary condition.

"Caring for one and then two parents was an overwhelming responsibility for my sister and me.  I recall caring for my mom and dad and wishing we had some assistance for the day to day items like housekeeping and meal preparation.  Many years later when I encountered the Comfort Keeper model of care I thought that is exactly what our family needed and longed for.  I am excited to be able to serve other families experiencing what my family went through with services that will make a difference for both the client and their children."

Comfort Keepers Mission

Our mission is to provide our clients with the highest level of quality of life that is achievable.  We shall treat each of our clients with the respect and dignity they deserve, as though we were caring for a member of our own family.

The special people who deliver our unique brand of in-home senior care (We call them Comfort Keepers®.) are carefully selected, screened, and trained to provide professional, compassionate care.

Our Philosophy

Interactive Caregiving™ is based on four primary pillars, which Comfort Keepers leverage to care for, engage, and interact with our clients:

  1. An active senior mind promotes independence, better mental and physical health, happiness, and a longer life.
  2. A physically active senior maintains strength and independence, lessening or delaying the effects of aging.
  3. A well-nourished senior is more energetic, both physically and mentally.
  4. A safe senior lives in an environment that reduces the likelihood of accidents and promotes timely response when illness or accidents occur.

With our Interactive Caregiving approach, we are able to raise seniors’ quality of life to a much higher level than typical in-home care providers.
